Prince Albert of Monaco, President of the Olympic Committee of this country, has followed today the participation of the athletes of his country in the Mediterranean Games.
Today Tuesday Albert of Monaco has attended the first day of table tennis competition, held in the Joana Ballart Pavilion in Valls, where the athlete Xiaoxin Yang has participated on behalf of Monaco.
Prince Albert has visited the facilities of the Mediterranean Village with Amar Addadi, President of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, Josep Fèlix Ballesteros, Mayor of Tarragona and President of the Organising Committee of the Mediterranean Games, Alejandro Blanco, President of Spanish Olympic Committee, Javier Villamayor, Deputy Mayor and Commissioner for the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona City Council, and Víctor Sánchez, executive director of Tarragona 2018.
Monaco Olympic Committee has arrived in Tarragona with 20 athletes participating in the Games.
First day of tennis and table tennis
We are halfway through the Mediterranean Games competitions and two new sports disciplines have made their debut today: tennis and table tennis. Both sports include athletes coming from Monaco and will be attended by the leading authority of this country.
Table tennis is played in Valls from June 26th to 30th with men’s and women’s categories. 23 athletes will compete for the podium, among them the Algeria, Spanish and Egyptian delegation stand out with 6 players each one.
Tennis will be played today and tomorrow in Tarragona Tennis Club facilities, in which 23 athletes will participate in women’s category and 29 in men’s one.
