The XVIII Mediterranean Games Tarragona 2018 closing ceremony will be an appreciation party for all those people having participated in the event with their work in the 10 days of competition. Thus, Tarragona, the venues, the volunteers and all entities and services involved in the event will be thanked in public, as it is usual both in the Mediterranean Games and the Olympic Games.
This is why Tarragona City Council has provided the clubs of the city, the entities involved in grass-root sport and volunteers of the Games with tickets for the closing ceremony. Each venue, as in the case of Tarragona, will have a specific number of invitations that are not for sale and are reserved for local clubs, entities and volunteers.
Besides, social, cultural and civil entities involved in this sports event will also be included in this distribution of tickets, along with any collective working with the Educational Project. In total, there are 5 000 tickets at the disposal of Tarragona City Council, as organiser of the Games.
The ICMG fosters the congress for the promotion of the Mediterranean Games
The executive director of the Mediterranean Games Tarragona 2018, Víctor Sánchez, has announced that a congress led by the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) will be held soon. It will be attended by the National Olympic Committees members of the ICMG, the International Federations and the International Olympic Committee, together with actors involved in the promotion of peace and solidarity, and media and marketing world.
The congress aims to foster sport and promote this sports event mainly in the countries of the Mediterranean basin, but also focused in the rest of the world. All the participants involved in this congress will work for the streamlining of the sports programme of the Mediterranean Games in order to ensure the quality of the athletes participating.
The Executive Director of the Games, Víctor Sánchez, has remarked the importance of the celebration of this sports event “now more than ever these Games are necessary to kindle again the motivation for which they were created in 1955, the union of the countries of the Mediterranean region.
