Spain, Italy and Greece in the podium of the swimming finals this Sunday
Mireia Belmonte obtains the gold medal in 200 m medleycategory: Mediterranean Games
This afternoon a total of 14 finals have been played in different swimming modalities for men’s and women’s categories. Spain, France and Italy are in the first positions of a narrow competition in the swimming pool of the Mediterranean Ring in Tarragona.
In the 400 m medley Italy’s Federico Turrini has been the winner, followed by the Spanish swimmer Joan Lluís Pons, who obtained a silver medal, and Portugal’s João Alexandre, who has completed the podium.
In women’s category, Mireia Belmonte has obtained the gold medal in 200 m medley, whereas France’s Marie Wattel had the gold medal in freestyle modality. In men’s 100 freestyle, the Algerian swimmer, Oussama Sahnoune, has finished in the first position, before Italy, who have completed the podium with the second and third position obtained by Alessandro Miressi, silver medal, and Luca Dotto, bronze medal.
The Italian swimmer Fabio Scozzoli has conquered the gold medal in 100 m breastroke, whereas Spain’s Jessica Vall has obtained the gold medal in women’s category. Italy also had a gold medal in 100 backstroke in women’s category and 1500 m freestyle in men’s category.
Tomorrow Monday the swimming competition will finish for Tarragona 2018, which also includes an event for disabled people with 100 m freestyle (S10).
