Rowing, Beach volleyball, bowls and taekwondo, main novelties of the day in the Mediterranean Games.
Today rowing (Olympic Channel in Castelldefels), beach volley (Arrabassada Beach in Tarragona), bowls (Mediterranean Ring) and taekwondo (Salou Pavilion) will make their debut in the Mediterranean Games.category: Sports competitions
With space for 1 500 people, Arrabassada will host from today Thursday June 28th in the morning the great spectacle that beach volley offers.
Between Thursday and tomorrow Friday the first qualifying rounds, 8th and quarter finals will be played in men’s and women’s category.
During the morning of this Thursday the Italian, French, Spanish, Serbian and Turkish teams have qualified for the men’s competition. Important athletes will participate on behalf of these countries, such as Alejandro and Javier Huerta, for Spain, France’s Quincy Remi Aye, Youssef Guy Kran, Arnaud Gauthier and Maxime Stephane Thiercy.
Italy, France, Spain, Serbia and Turkey have also been winners in women’s category.
Semifinals will be played on June 30th in the morning and will lead to the finals that will start the same day at 16:30 in the afternoon in Arrabassada Beach in Tarragona.
ROWING IN CASTELLDEFELS
Rowing has followed Canoe in the Catalonia Olympic Channel.
Four modalities will be played in men’s category: individual sculls, lightweight individual sculls, doubles sculls and lightweight doubles sculls. However, in women’s category only the individual modalities will be played.
Bowls will take place in Campclar Velodrome until June 30th and taekwondo will be played in Salou Pavilion also until next Saturday 30th.
