Repsol, official partner of the Mediterranean Games Tarragona 2018, has presented today its Tarracvs in the Tarracvs parade activity. The event was hosted at the Repsol Industrial Complex and attended by the Mayof of La Pobla de Mafument, Josep Maria Sardà, the Mayor of Perafort, Joan Martí Pla, the Commissioner for the Mediterranean Games, Javier Villamayor, annd Repsol Director, Josep Francesc Font.
Special guests were also present in the event, such as Nil Bartolozzi, the person in charge of Repsol’s Tarracvs artistic invervention, and Berta Castells, an athlete from Torredembarra competing in the Mediterranean Games.
Nil Bartolozzi has explained that the drawings on the surface of the figure represent the process triggered by the microspore “Pestalotiopsis”, which naturally absorbs the polyurethane. The geometrical forms on the base depict the plastics generating different forms during the decomposition until they turn into a kind of nebula. According to Bartolozzi “it is a reference – in the World Environment Day – to the disposition of the industry towards the sustainability. It is constantly looking for news ways to reduce the impact”.
