Portugal wins the gold medal in equestrian jumping teams

Real Club de Polo in Barcelona hosts the equestrian competition of the Mediterranean Games

Portugal participates for the first time in the Mediterranean Games and so far they have won 12 medals. The last one in Real Club de Polo in Barcelona where they have conquered the gold medal in equestrian jumping teams competition.

The Portuguese team was comprised by Rodrigo Almeida, Antonio Jose Matos, Luis Sabino Gonçalves and Duarte Seabra. They have riden the circuit in 212,56 and 219,11 seconds in two rounds and without any penalty.

France has obtained a silver medal whereas Italy has completed the podium with the third place. 12 countries have participated in the equestrian competition.

Equestrian competition by teams of the Mediterranean Games is the only one not distinguishing gender in the modalities and it took place this Wednesday June 27th in Barcelona.

Tomorrow Friday the rounds and finals of the individual modality in jumping will be played.
