Golf, boxing and wrestling to make their debut today in the Mediterranean Games

4th day of competition of the XVIII Mediterranean Games. Today the competitions of new sports will start like golf (Club de Golf Costa Daurada), boxing (Torredembarra Pavilion) and wrestling (Vila-Seca Pavilion).
During the morning, the qualifying rounds have been played and the finals are ready for this afternoon. The Olympic athletes Gregorio Paltrinieri (Italy) and Mireia Belmonte (Spain) will compete for their second gold medal in the 400m freestyle final in their respective categories.
The swimming finals will take place in Campclar Aquatic Centre from 16:30.
Competitor’s list ready for the single badminton final
This morning the singles semifinals of badminton have taken place in El Morell.
Tomorrow at 10:00 the following athletes will compete in the final:
Men’s: Pablo Abian (Spain) vs Lucas Maurice Corvee (France)
Women’s: Beatriz Corrales (Spain) vs Leslihan Yigit (Turkey)
Afternoon full of finals
Apart from the swimming finals in the Aquatic Centre, there will also be:
- Doubles badminton final: men’s at 17:30 and women’s at 18:00. Both will be played between France and Turkey.
- Women’s fencing final for épée modality at 19:10 and sabre at 19:30.
- Artistic gymnastics women’s individual final individual at 17:30.
- Weightlifting finals from 19:00.
- Greco-roman finals from 19:30.
Currently Italy is the country holding more medals with a total of 20 gold medals, followed by Spain with 42 medal and 11 gold medals. Turkey is in the third position with 27 medas, 8 of them gold ones.
