Altafulla hosts the first triathlon of the Mediterranean Games
The Portuguese Joao Pereira and Melanie Santos have won the gold medal in men's and women's category respectivelycategory: Mediterranean Games
Altafulla hosted this morning the first triathlon competition in the Mediterranean Games.
In men’s category a total of 21 athletes have participated. As expected, the Portuguese competitor Joao Pereira has won the gold medal, whereas the Spanish Antonio Serrat and Antonio Benito have conquered the silver and the bronze medal respectively.
All triathletes have highlighted the good organisation of the event and the incomparable setting Altafulla offers for the organisation of this type of event.
Portugal leads the women’s category too
In women’s category, the Portuguese Melanie Santos has conquered the first place, followed by the Spanish Anna Godoy and the Italian Federica Parodi, who ended up in the third place.
The beach and streets of Altafula have been full of people who did not want to miss the new competitions of a sport that has consolidated in the municipality during the last years.
