From today to July 16th, it is opened the popular vote to choose the finalists five last drawings.

This morning the 10 first finalists drawings from the contest “Draw the Mediterranean Games Mascot” have been presented. The event took place in Rovira i Virgili’s University (URV) Lecture Hall and today these 10 drawings have been made public. 5 of them will be in the final, and 1 will be the winning drawing in which the Tarragona 2017 mascot will be inspired.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Education and Psychology Faculty from URV, doctor Lluís Marquès, and the Mediterranean Games city councillor, Javier Villamayor. The dean has stated the importance and progress of the Educational Project of the Games and has thanked the presence and participation of children and their families as well as the support from the Department of Education of the Catalan Government and ICE from URV. Javier Villamayor has highlighted the “wide geographical representation in the drawings winners. This fact demonstrates that the Games are a project of territory and its legacy goes far beyond sport. Thanks to more than 10,000 children who have drawn the Tarragona 2017 mascot with lots of creativity”.
